This policy explains what Polaris Labs LLC, doing business as Branding Lessons (2619 Corvette Ln, Kissimmee, FL 34746), collects when you use brandinglessons.com, and what we do with it. Write to hello@brandinglessons.com with any question or request.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored hashed).
- Membership and orders: what you bought, when, and your billing address. Card payments go straight to Stripe; we only see the card type and last four digits.
- Email activity: whether you open or click the Brand Memo and account emails, so we can tell which issues help and stop sending to addresses that bounce.
- Where you came from: when you arrive through one of our links, the campaign tags in it (for example “utm_source”), stored with your order so we know which pages lead to memberships.
- Site logs: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) kept for security and troubleshooting.
How we use it
To run your account and membership, send the Brand Memo and the emails you signed up for, answer you, keep the site secure, and understand which lessons and pages are useful. We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t share it for cross-context advertising.
Who helps us
Stripe (payments), Cloudways (hosting), Twilio SendGrid (email delivery), FunnelKit (checkout and email tools, running on our own site), Adobe Fonts (typefaces), and Slack (a private notification to us when someone joins). Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, run the cart and checkout, remember your light or dark mode choice, and remember the campaign that brought you to a checkout. We don’t use advertising cookies.
Your choices and rights
You can unsubscribe from any email with the link at its foot, update your details in My Account, and ask us to send you a copy of your data or delete it. Depending on where you live (for example California or the European Union), you may have further rights, such as correcting your data or objecting to some uses. We answer requests within 30 days and won’t treat you differently for making one.
How long we keep it
Account data while your account is open; order records as long as tax law requires (usually seven years); server logs for up to 90 days.
Children
Branding Lessons is for adults. We don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
Changes
We will post any change here with a new date, and email members about material ones.
